This is a rather bulky air purifier that has an advantage of having re-usable HEPA filter. However, although it generated loud noise even under low power setting, it's not as powerful as expected. Its purification efficiency seemed similar to my small non-HEPA air purifier. Compare to a 3M Filtrete airpurifier that I have, this model has similar noise level but less purification efficiency. Perhaps the difference lies in airflow or filter design.

Judging by many other reviews, what happened to me seems to be quite rare, so make of it what you will. But our Honeywell just completely stopped working.



I bought this primarily for my wife's allergies and we used it for a couple of months during the pollen season. It worked as others have described. It was put away for several months and then plugged in again and it's simply dead. There is no response at all even though nothing happened to the unit and it simply sat dormant for a few months.



Hate to give it the rock-bottom review but there was no reason for this thing to just stop working. I kept thinking there must be a simple reset button on it or something but it seems fairly simple. The electronic controls just quietly passed away while sleeping, it would seem.

This is a fantastic air purifier. I bought two of them to replace Oreck Tabletop XL Professional Air Purifiers (a costly waste of money). I use one of the Honeywell 18155 SilentComfort Permanent, True HEPA Air Purifier in my bedroom and leave it on the high setting at all times. On this setting it is very quiet and doesn't disturb my rest at all. On the lowest setting it is so quiet I can barely hear it. Since placing this unit in my bedroom I sleep straight through the night and I wake with clear sinuses and no congestion.



The second Honeywell is in my living room. My living room and dining room share a large combined space and this unit is small for the area. Because they are quiet I plan on getting another unit for the dining area - two of them should handle the area well.



I do a thorough dusting and cleaning every week, so I was shocked at the amount of dust, cat hair and "stuff" that was trapped in the charcoal pre-filter the first time I cleaned it, and in subsequent cleanings. I don't smoke, I do have three cats and have allergies to dust and pollen. These purifiers are truly a life saver!

After much research, I puchased this filter for my bedroom to help control dust allergens. After several months of running the unit nearly non-stop, there has been absolutely no reduction in dust. I vaccuum every week and still have to hand-dust, and my bedroom is not that large.



What I do like about the unit is that it is portable, so I will sometimes move it to the kitchen or basement to help control odors.

I bought this due to price and design - and brand: honeywell sounds good. I read people complaining about the noise, but when I got it I felt it was an acceptable level of noise.

I had this unit running for two months now, and suddenly the noise became intolerable. The way I can describe it is as a vibrating rattle as if the enclosure holding the fan motor was coming apart.

I am past my return period by a few days and would have got stuck with out of pocket shipping fees + 15% restocking according to return policy.

To make matters worse, I took it apart to clean it and was not impressed with the little amount of "dust and gunk" that came out of it. Don't expect this thing to filter out as many pollutants as are claimed on the video! It's just a fancy fan.

Live in an apartment with smoker underneath us. Got the fan to help with stale smoke smell. The fan is very quiet, air smells cleaner and I don't notice the smoke smell as much when it is running. My apt. is 1350 sq. ft and I only have one fan which covers approx. 200 sq. ft. so i'm sure if i had more fans it would be even better. i just got the one fan for the living room which was the worst room and it seems to be helping. i would recommend it.

This is my 2nd Rabbit Air MinusA2. My first Rabbit air runs at fan speed lvl 3 non stop for one year already and it's still running well just like new(of course I do change filter after 1 yr). Why I don't pick up other brand? Because it is Small, Powerful, Quiet, Beautiful, Reliable, Efficient and it does make the air in my room so clean, lots of my friends come to my place they can tell the difference; and already 3 of them pick up Rabbit Air MinusA2 after they saw it. A lot good purifier out there and I believe most of the high end purifier they all perform well, but they are all in HUGE size.

Let me first say, I can't stand noise! This Air Filter works wonderfully, worth every penny and more, because not only does it work great, but unless it's on high you don't even know it's there. Let me also clarify, when it's on high, it's not loud enough to distract or even bother you while on a phone call. I love it, highly recommend it, and I bought two, and both are flawless.



Little warning to those that want to order more than one! Place individual orders, I had a small problem with the company only shipping me one, though my order was for two. They not only corrected my order, but gave me an extra filter free of charge. The company cares about its customers, however, I would still have preferred to receive my complete order on time.



Lastly, they look so cool! Really eye catching, and this combined with its quiet and extensive air filtration, leaves me a little lighter in the wallet, but hopefully my partner, two kitties, and I are healthier and happy for a long, long time.

Hi Everyone! I've purchased three of these Black MinusA2 780A's and am very happy with their performance. Based on the research that I have done, this product offers the best blend of form and function available, with it's highly effective air purification and it's unparalleled aesthetics as well as it's extremely quiet operation. As far as I can see it is the best overall product on the market today.



I also like the high level of automation and the light sensor that automatically puts the air purifier into silent mode and turns the purifiers' lights off 3 minutes after I turn my lights off to go to bed.



Another noteworthy aspect of the 780A is it's low level of energy use, between 8 and 58 watts depending on fan speed. The product essentially pays for itself in energy savings vs it's competitors over time, and the Rabbit Air products are also the quietest purifiers on the market due to their brushless motors, with their largest and loudest being this 780A model which produces only 25.6 dBA - 51.3 dBA from silent to turbo fan speed.



Other good products worth looking into are the Alen A350 and T300, the Blueair 402, 501, and 601, the Austin Health Mate air purifiers, as well as IQ Air and so on. But I think you will find that, although a bit pricey, this product is indeed the total package. Also, if you live in an apartment without pets and don't have major allergies, I would recommend selecting the Toxin Air Filter, it's great for filtering out the chemicals in the air from fresh paint and new furniture. Ok I bought 2 of these because it looked great on TV. No filters to replace ect. The dust lands on the collection plates in the machine and they can't hold much. You have to clean the thing every few days. If you decide you don't feel like cleaning it right now the machine creates some kind of static popping noise like a bug zapper from the dust. It is the most annoying sound that forces you to clean it or shut it off. If you have had an Ionic breeze it's the same sound only add the noise from the fan contained in this machine. I wish I had bought a real air cleaner with a hepa filter. Not this thing.

This is a fantastic product. I bought this unit to replace an Oreck Tabletop XL Professional Air Purifier (a complete waste of money). I use it in a storage room where I keep my cats' litter boxes. I have three cats and they tend to kick up quite a bit of litter dust.



The Honeywell 50250 99.97% Pure HEPA Round Air Purifier is heavy duty and is recommended for large rooms; it is actually large for the room I have it in, but it is very effective. The purifier pulls air in on all sides and expels clean air from venting around the top of the unit. The expelled air is cool and creates quite a draft so this may be a consideration when used. On the "high" and "medium" settings this purifier is loud; on the "low" setting it is fairly quiet (but not as quiet as the Honeywell Silent Comfort model).



Overall I am very satisfied with this product. I have noticed a major decrease in the amount of litter dust that seemed to coat everything in the room prior to using this purifier. When I change the charcoal pre-filter I can't believe the amount of very fine litter dust (powder), dust and cat hair the filter has trapped. It is also very effective in controlling litter box odor and the musty smell that seems to haunt closets and storage rooms.

I got this purifier to go in a room in which I keep kittens that I foster for the local animal shelter. The dander flies, as you can imagine. After the air purifier had run for about a week, the air was MUCH cleaner and the room smelled fresher. I am very happy with the quality and performance of this air purifier. It has 3 speeds and the highest one is very noisy. I don't think you could talk over it or watch TV with it set at that speed. I leave it set on the middle setting and the noise is tolerable. The size of the room in which it's located is about 10' x 12' and it takes care of that size room with no problem. I would definitely recommend this product.

had the honeywell air cleaner almost a mouth so far doing a good job .keeps the air in my apt clean have not had to clean the pre filter yet or hepa filter yet like the idea of just vac hepa filter once a year or when the hepa light or pre filter light comes on . no light yet . little loud on high but i don't care about that as long as it keeps the air in my apt clean its worth being lond . the power switch has a blue light works as a nice night light when i go to bed .

I've had mine for about 8 months or so, and I believe this little machine is the main reason I have been healthier than I've been in years. So incredibly easy to clean too... just a wipe-down on the lamp every once in a while. No filters to mess with or spend extra money on. And easy to get used to sleeping with, which is great for a light sleeper like me. I keep it in my bedroom, and mostly use it at night. The fan is not loud, just a little white noise. The only slight issue I have with it is the on/off switch (on the top) lights up with a blue light when it is on, and it is a little more light than I like to have while I'm sleeping (I like it pitch black). But I have gotten used to it, and it doesn't usually bother me. It's not even as bright as a nightlight. If I were to buy another air purifier for another room, I would definitely get this exact one again.

I have pets and there is a smoker in the household and I must tell you for the size of this thing it is fantastic at eliminating orders. It works perfectly on a room 24X16 and smaller. The Ionic Pro is a little different than the one I have had for several years. I have an Ionic from Sharper Image and it does wonders. Because it is so aged I thouhg I might replace it. The Thermapure is different because it uses lamps to ionize air passing through. The lamps can cause damage to the eyes if you are not careful to turn it off when you clean it. There is no such danger from the one I have had for so many years. I have the Therapure in a back bedroom and it seems to be doing fine.

I use this product in my small massage room and the air quality is significantly improved. It's also not noisy.

What bothers me though, is the fact that the little fan in the top of the unit cannot be removed for easy cleaning with water. The spaces between the fan are too small to get a Q-tip in for cleaning, I might try a toothpick with a cloth - in any case, cleaning the fan is going to be time consuming.

Shipping was very slow, took almost 4 weeks. The warranty card which I sent in, came back because the PO Box was closed without a forwarding address. So I had to call the company to find out their new PO Box and send the card a second time.

Nevertheless, I do like this unit. I feel less tired from work since I use it.

I have 7 ionic air purifiers. Three are ionic pro where the collection blades are top loaded. They have been working daily like a gem for over a year. The frequency of cleaning depends on the amount of dust and allergens in the air. Our house is fairly clean - no smokers, etc. and I clean every 2-4 weeks. I also have two of the Ionic pro turbo which are front loading and they have been lemons since the beginning. They continuouly turn themselves off. If they have been sitting off for a few weeks, they will run about 24 hours when first turned on, then with each subsequent turn on, they run shorter and shorter periods of time..... down to just minutes at a time. They are Junk. My other two are top loading Ionic Breeze by Sharper Image and they are great also..... much like the top loading Ionic Pro.

This does work, but takes A LOT of work to keep it going. I actually have to clean my blades every 2 days, sometimes even more. We have 2 dogs, one of which sheds a lot. I also burn candles quite often and it seems when I do, this needs cleaning even more often. It makes a terrible crackling noise when it's collecting dust and sometimes shuts off after running for only a few hours. It seemed to run good for the first few months that we owned it. We've had it for about a year now and it still works at pulling any dog smell or cooking odors out of the air...when it stays on. I love when it actually runs all night like it's supposed to and I wake up to my house smelling like fresh air in the morning. Especially in the winter time when the windows are always closed up. But like I said, sometimes it shuts itself off and that seems to happen quite often. Anyways, I think we could have found a better air purifier. This one attracted me because of not having to buy filters, but I'm not so sure it was worth it. All the work to keep it running is a pain in the [.............]!

It really does make the air fresher. And, you can feel a cold breeze from the unit when it is on.



Clean up is simple enough. Wipe the blades. Mine did start to rust with slightest bit of moister. So, clean it often.

I have had my two Orek Xl's type 2 pro air purifiers just over 3 years and cannot imagine living without them. I will admit that there are popping noises when the plates start to get loaded but that is secondary to the feeling you get each and every morning you get up out of bed and realize that your headaches are gone, your nose don't feel plugged and you feel like a new man or woman each AND every day. Also i would like to add that we have three dogs that live inside with us and a cat with a cat box. The three little girls (dogs) have the usual doggy odors, they are shampooed twice monthly but before the Orek Purifiers you knew that we had dogs and a cat. The last three years friends and family come over for visits and holidays and ask, i'm not kidding, if we still have our pets?, i reply "yes we do", and they are still amazed at the difference that our Oreks have made on the odor department. Cooking odors?, no more, stale odors form the house being closed up for the winter?, gone, pet and cat box odors?, history. All i can do is recommend this amazing product, the rest is up to you, clean them on a regular schedule, follow the directions in the user manual and enjoy an invigorating new feeling in your general overall health, i know i have as has my wife. This purifier worked incredibly well for the first two weeks. Then the electrostatic popping started. First an occassional pop, then it was like a machine gun going off in my room, usually at 3 am. Following the cleaning instruction seemed to make it angrier. My poor dog peed on the floor and hid under the bed. Luckily they are offering a refund.

Ok I bought 2 of these because it looked great on TV. No filters to replace ect. The dust lands on the collection plates in the machine and they can't hold much. You have to clean the thing every few days. If you decide you don't feel like cleaning it right now the machine creates some kind of static popping noise like a bug zapper from the dust. It is the most annoying sound that forces you to clean it or shut it off. If you have had an Ionic breeze it's the same sound only add the noise from the fan contained in this machine. I wish I had bought a real air cleaner with a hepa filter. Not this thing.
